Description
This limited-edition La Piscine film poster reimagines Jacques Deray’s 1969 psychological thriller through a restrained contemporary graphic language. Rather than foregrounding the film’s stars, Croatian illustrator Luka Duplančić focuses on setting, atmosphere, and silence: the pool, the palms, the clean architectural lines, and the unease that gathers beneath the surface.
Set in a villa in the South of France, La Piscine (The Swimming Pool) follows a love triangle marked by desire, jealousy, and emotional repression. Starring Alain Delon and Romy Schneider, the film turns Mediterranean leisure into a study of tension, suspicion, and violence.
Duplančić’s composition distills that atmosphere into a spare, elegant image. Its sharp geometry, flat color, and cinematic framing evoke both mid-century modern design and the film’s controlled sense of dread.
This limited edition digital print was produced as part of NoMAD MOVIE ART 2024 – Film Classics through the Eyes of Croatian Authors, a collaboration between NOMAD.ART and the Mediterranean Film Festival Split (FMFS). The series invited Croatian artists to reinterpret European film classics through contemporary poster design.
